Where and how you install your projection screen impacts your overall viewing experience. If positioned wrong, the image will display less clarity and viewers may find it uncomfortable to watch. Optimize your screen resolution and image with some simple placement tips that can make a significant difference.
Three tips for installing your projection screen the right way are:
Place it at the Right Height
Plan on placement that puts the center of the screen at an average height of around 48" from the floor to prevent neck and eye strain. This will vary depending on the size of your screen and the room's measurements.
Center the Screen Correctly
Consider the horizontal centering of your screen to avoid a stiff neck. Center the screen around your seating so that your eyes rest around the bottom third of the projection screen for the best viewing experience. This is a good rule-of-thumb regardless of the size of your screen.
Find the Sweet-Spot
Finding the perfect "sweet-spot" for your screen requires some trial and error. You want it close enough to the projector for optimal brightness, but not so close that the sound from the projector's fan causes disturbance during viewing. This is typically why many home theaters place the projector behind the main seating area.
