Ink stains in the dryer can spell trouble for each and every load of wash that you do. Get rid of these problematic spots with a few tricks and tips that will remove the ink and eliminate the chance of finding dark spots on future loads of your family's laundry.
Get ink stains out of your dryer with these tips:
Heat it Up
Start by warming up the dryer's drum by running the dryer on a hot setting for at least 20 minutes. This should soften the ink and allow you to wipe the drum clean with a damp cloth easily.
Use Acetone
Nail polish remover contains acetone, which is an effective way of removing ink stains from your dryer's drum. Soak a few cotton balls or a soft cloth with nail polish remover and vigorously rub the stained areas.
Get Heavy Duty Products
Industrial strength cleaning agents can be used, but it may be prudent to run a load of damp towels after to remove any residual chemical or solution before laundering your family's apparel or wash.
Bleach is Best
Saturate a couple of towels with bleach and water, and place in the dryer. Run the dryer on a hot setting to remove the stains. This is a good method of disinfecting your dryer, and preventing contamination or spread of bacteria.
