so this is my second microwave that I bought through Sam's Club the first one that I bought now this is my second one that I bought it says PF on it when I plugged it in which I'm thinking it means power failure then I reset it push the buttons for the clock and none of the buttons work the first one Screech is real loud when it's running this is the GE microwave oven . The first one is not even 2 months old 1/18/26 the second one I just purchased is today 2/23/26

The control pad has black buttons on a black background. You cannot see it in dim light. Ridiculous that it does not have a back lit control pad. Shouldn™™t have to use a flashlight!!!!!!!.

Works as expected I purchased this microwave 4 days ago and thus far, it is functioning as one would expect a microwave to function. Reviewers have said that the keypad is dark and hard to read. That's true, particularly in dim light (it was okay in Lowe's because of the bright florescent light). When turned on to heat something, the motor (I think it's turning the rotating glass plate )sound is loud. It sounds almost like a slow grinding noise. Is that normal?

Control Panel Hard to See

This microwave is a nice size for our kitchen countertop. We mainly use it for reheating food and it works nicely for us. However, the only thing that is easy to read on the control panel is the time. The other buttons on the panel blend into the background and we have to keep a flashlight nearby to see the buttons even with all the kitchen lights on.

This microwave was a replacement for an old one that died. I bought this GE microwave because GE is a reliable and reputable brand. Love the modern look. Affordable, large enough inside for large dinner plates and casseroles, great wattage at 950. I like all the control buttons, just wish they were easier to read. I was surprised how loud it is when you first turn it on. Hopefully it™™s not a bad sign that there™™s something wrong with it. Other than the loudness, it heats up food great.

This microwave is perfect for just the two of us. Right size and controls are easy to figure out and use. We picked it out because of the good GE name. It works perfectly for what we need it for. The overall size fits where we had planned to keep it and it's power is plenty for all we would heat in it. The slim design is a perfect height.

I am renovating my kitchen and replacing the over the range microwave with a wall mounted range hood. I wanted a more compact microwave for on the counter and this one is perfect. Looks great, works very well and is much more functional than the huge one that was above the range. Just what I needed for the right price. I have been replacing my older appliances with new GE models and after a new range, washer and dryer and now a microwave I am very pleased.

I purchased this same model of microwave 2 to 3 years ago and it worked well during that time. Towards the end it would turn itself on and start trying to cook every time the door was closed (without pressing the start button™¦). Purchased the same one again because it otherwise worked well. The new one however is LOUD! Like it™™s trying to weld the food to the plate while cooking it. The food comes out fine but the noise makes you want to leave the kitchen while cooking. Probably should have returned it but had purchased it online, direct from GE and didn™™t want to figure out how to deal with that return process. I have been using it for a few months now and it still works fine.

Half the battle - removing stubborn stickers

Half the frustration with this GE Microvoe is opening this microwave to get it ready. Getting all the protective covers off is not really an issue, but there is a smaller rectangular sticker over the touch pad area (and the touchpad is a soft plastic) that refuses to come off. Don't use a razor blade because it will cut into and gouge the soft plastic, and other chemical removers don't seem to work. As a result, what little you can get off still leaves the bottom layer of the sticker and it looks horrible. Additionally, this microwave has an automatic lock feature which becomes frustrating to unlock. Like any Microwave, you have to get accustomed to a new way of doing things. So you have to get reacquainted with this smaller model. We're getting a new kitchen and our gourmet frigidaire wall mounted microwave is being removed, and in its place will be a commercial quality vent motor with designer cover. This leaves us with this smaller GE microwave that will be used on top of a counter. The positive is that it's a very quiet microwave, and you have to look to see that it's actually working, which is a good thing. All in all, between the removal of all the stickers and coverings - not to mention, this microwave is not intuitive, we can only give it 3 stars. But hey, it didn't cost an arm and a leg, so we'll make do with it.
