Thus far I™™ve loved my Maytag freezer. It keeps my everything frozen perfect. And its storage racks are convenient spaced how you want them. Especially like the green light that lets me know the freezer is functioning properly. No complaints.

I purchased a Maytag frost- free freezer, 18 cu.ft. on 05/15/2026. I read the reviews on it and they were mostly good.. I feel Maytag is a good brand so I made the purchase. I've only had it for a few months and it has been great. It freezes fast and it's very quiet. It holds the temperature steady. It's the perfect size for my wife and I. We like buying in quantity when possible and I grow a garden,so we can keep things frozen for the long haul. I recommend this freezer and Maytag as a company.

Freezer is good with ample storage space. Overflow of insulation in door kept seal from making contact with top of freezer cabinet so frost and ice icicles formed on inside top. Used a knife to cut lumps of insulation off, flush with door panel so the rubber seal would seat on freezer cabinet. Seems to be working fine now.

I™™m very pleased with my purchase. Holds most of my frozen food s. I love the fact that it freezes quickly. As hot as it has been this summer ice, ice cream, popsicles are soft by the time I get home from the store but this freezer quickly has it frozen

Product freezes well. Let's of room in the freezer, especially love the shelves in the door. Would have liked to have seen a basket on the very bottom of the freezer. Would have been able to store more food in the bottom if a basket were there.

I use the freezer solely to freeze cubes of ice and store them. After a week of ownership the cubes still weren't consistently freezing, even on the Coldest setting. So now, I have to add one more thing to my daily task list - engage the fast freeze to make sure ice is available and solid.

Great freezer, perfect size, it would have been 5 stars, but BAD customer service. After getting it home, and unpacking the stryofoam corners etc, getting ready to plug it in, open door, and noticed the bottom door shelf was cracked, and unable to stay on. I chatted with someone called aillayh or something like that and asked if I could get a replacement, seeing it was brand new, and I wasn't supposed to return it to store. She said NO I had to contact store! Total BS, on a BRAND NEW freezer. I even had to show my receipt, and then she said maybe it was a blemishes one, or floor model. It was on sale! That's all.

Just got our new freezer. Works great; runs nice and quiet. Layout very useful with sturdy door shelves. Adjustable interior shelves are sturdy but I wish there was one more. Any way it's configured there is one shelf that's too high for practical purposes resulting in wasted space. If there was an extra shelf and I really needed a high shelf I could remove one. Store owner said I could buy an extra shelf for $130. I adapted a shelf from the old freezer and now it's perfect.

I bought this a few weeks ago. It freezes well, and that™™s basically what I was looking for. I bought this upright freezer to replace an old one that was no longer holding a required low temperature. This is the first time I™™ve had a freezer that is self-defrosting, so I just packed it full to the back of the unit like I™™ve always done and hoped for the best. I recommend reading the instructions first before filling this freezer because it has vents at the back wall that need to be unobstructed! The day after my new freezer was running I opened it to find ice accumulating around the inside of the freezer door frame. I retrieved the instructions and realized that I had pushed frozen items up against the vents. Rearranging the items on the shelves solved the issue. I assumed incorrectly that this freezer would have temperature controls that would show the temperature required for adequate frozen food storage. This freezer doesn™™t. The installer recommended it to be set in ™the middle™ and that™™s where it is. I™™ll need to purchase a freezer thermometer since I won™™t be able to tell if there™™s ever a problem with the freezer temperature. Technology has been around at least 16 years that can digitally show freezer temp every time you open the freezer door, because my almost 16 year old refrigerator/freezer has it. Another issue is that the instructions also say I need to check the drip pan under the unit every week or so. Not a problem unless I enjoy getting down on my hands and knees with a special 5-sided drill bit (truth!) to remove the vent cover. SERIOUSLY??. That vent cover, if necessary , should just be clipped on for easy access. I guess I™™ll be leaving off that cover permanently. So why did I buy this? I should have looked for those features when researching, but assumed most units would be up to date, and this one was at a good price. It works, it freezes, and it™™ll be more work to monitor than my one I only had to defrost once a year!

Freezer seems to work fine, but came to us with damage (two very noticeable dents) to one of the side panels. The damage was discovered when we removed the packing after delivery from the Rapid City SD Menards from whom we purchased it. I was present when it was unloaded and the damage didn't happen during the delivery or packing removal process. Styrofoam protected the edges, but the plastic does nothing to protect the exposed panels between, so the damage could have been done anywhere from the Maytag warehouse, during transit, or at Menards. We chose to keep the freezer, because the damage does not affect its operation. I sent a note, with photos, to Menards customer service on Oct. 27, 2025, the same Fay we got the freezer, but have not heard back from anyone.

Our Frigidaire chest freezer stopped cooling after 50 years (yes, fifty!). It was great at keeping utensils frozen but things got lost at the bottom so this time, we selected an upright freezer in hopes that it will be easier to find items. It™™s not full yet. I like the extra storage in the door allowing more to be visible. I wish there were more shelves.

I purchased this Maytag freezer on 6/24/25 after having another Maytag freezer for 10 years. However, this new one is a big disappointment! The freezer died in 3 months. Control panel no good. Not happy with this purchase at all!! Lost meats due to it not working. Will be out a freezer for at least 3 weeks.
