LG Customer Service is TERRIBLE

1 star is for the AWFUL customer service received from LG. I think the air conditioner is going to work great once I get one delivered that is not broken. The first one had such a loud internal noise I couldnt hear on the phone yet the agent said she could not hear anything wrong. I had the phone right next to the unit when she said that. You could hear it OUTSIDE across the yard. Her first canned response was I installed it wrong. Once we got past that it was that she would send a technician but did not know how long that would be or if it would cost anything. Keep in mind this AC was about 30 minutes used at this point. I refuted that and told her something internal to the brand new air conditioner was broken and it needed replacement. Her answer - we dont do that see if Walmart will. I hung up on her at that point. For what its worth the AC blew super cold air so Im sure it will work awesome. Oh and Walmart customer service was wonderful. No problem refund other than I have to take this one to a local store.

Low Cooling and Loud

This Window AC is larndow unit it replacesger in size and BTUs than the GE 8000 BTU window unit it replaces. The LW1022IVSM is loud and makes jet engine like tones in SLEEP Mode. The Control Panel is Dark on Dark color and not visible in the dark. Control Panel functions are difficult to comprehend specially the Timer and Sleep functions. I do not consider this unit suitable for sleeping quarters.

This product was defective out of the box and LG will not honor the warranty. I have spent hours on the phone with them and they consistently defer and lie about approvals and commincation. Would avoid purchasing.

I bought this one for the bedroom. I am very pleased with this unit. The only complaint I have is the control panel there should be a back light to make it easier to see especially at night. Otherwise its pretty quiet and cools the room nicely. Good job on this unit.

Defect on assembly from Factory open repar

The LG Air conditioner was delivered with a defect in assembly from the factory I attempted to add pictures this portal is NOT allowing me to add pictures. I have been in contact with LG customer service for 3 weeks. The authorized repair Technician intended on placing the compromised bracket back into the AC Unit and adding the missing screw basically hiding the compromised bracket in the unit. That is NOT an acceptable repair.

I purchased this 10K BTU AC about 2 months ago and could not be happier. I have central air but the room I put this in has no vents from the central because of some remodeling Cat 5 hurricane Michael did. I had a smaller unit in the room but just was not doing the job. I love the energy saver feature as I set it to 74 at night and it shuts off most of the night. It has been a real blessing as Florida has been hotter than it usually is in June and July. Seems like the heat index has not dropped below 100 degrees since May. Its quite quite even on medium fan. I couldnt get the wifi to work but I probably would not use it anyway. I might try to get it to work with Alexa. I whole heartedly recommend this unit.

I didnt know I could like an AC unit as much as I like this one. My favorite thing about this unit is how quiet it is when it is running. I am beyond happy with this purchase. The look of the unit is more appealing to me than other window units I have utilized in the past. The only issue I came across was that my window is too wide for this size unit and I had to use personal materials to completely close off the window.

Weve had this unit for 1.5 years now. The first summer it was in our living room and from day one had a loud low-pitch vibration when the room had cooled down and the unit was drawing less electricity. My local retailer offered to take it back but said it would go in the trash. I didnt want more e-waste. So I kept it. I wondered if it was my wood window frame causing the issue. This unit is very very heavy. I got a support bracket for it but its still loud. This season I moved it to another room away from where we primarily spend time and its no longer an annoyance. The fan is quiet and when the unit is calling for compressor use it is also quiet. Its energy efficient and its really great to be able to track energy usage in the LG app. I just wish it didnt have that horrible hum.

I decided to replace my old window air conditioner with a newer more efficient one. I have bought other LG products and like their reliability this is why I decided to purchase this LG window air conditioner. This one has more BTUs than my old one which I like. I like that it is quiet and energy efficient. It comes with a remote control with its own container to put it in which I used double back tape and stuck it to the front of the air conditioner so I dont lose it. It also has an app for your phone so you can control it. I havent done this yet but plan too so I can turn the air conditioner on before I return home. This is a great air condition/product and it is a great price for all it does. I am very happy I bought this.

I really like this 10K air conditioner. It cools fast. Its very quiet on low fan. I really like that it has a remote control. The only issues I have had with it so far is that I cant get the app to work and the clean filter light came on after the first week and the filter is totally clean. The app might be me and the filter clean light was easy to reset and has not come on again yet. So all in all I am very satisfied with this unit

I live in a rancher with no central air. I have had the LG 22k BTU unit in my living room for two years now. I installed this 10k BTU unit in the front of my house where the bedrooms are located to replace a traditional 6k BTU unit that I was using during evening hours. The LG unit is quiet and powerful. I have very wide windows so I did not use the accordions. No A/C support shelf was necessary with this unit - I could manage it as one person but two would have been easier. I installed my unit all the way to the left - given my floor plan this allows it to blow directly into the neighboring room. After the unit was installed I measured the opening I needed to seal and had the local hardware store cut a couple pieces of white birch plywood of 1/4 inch thickness. 1 piece for the inside and 1 piece for the outside. I used a combination of screws and L brackets to secure the side panels and then sealed with silicone. Will shellac after silicone cures. I like keeping my home cool and dry -- especially at night. Right now it is 88 outside. I have the A/C set to 74 in the room across the hallway and it is 74.3 in my bedroom - and dry so it is a very chilly 74. Couldnt be happier.

Low Humidity

I bought this AC about a month and a half ago. I installed it in my small shop to keep the humidity down so my sensitive tools and instruments would not corrode. With the temperature set at 74 degrees F and the mode set to dry the humidity is 69 humidity outside is 97. So it is accomplishing what I wanted.

Poor fresh air vent design

Bought summer 2023. Easy installation. Fair cooling. Biggest issue is there is no way to shut off the external air/vent opening. You can see the outside vent ribs looking at the unit from the front that means there is always hot external air mixing with the cold air vents. This marginalizes the efficacy of the cold air produced by the unit that should be coming into the room.
